Inspired by the Via Dolorosa and the Passion of Christ, this artwork reflects upon the final journey of Jesus toward Golgotha—a path marked by suffering, humiliation, and profound spiritual significance. The artist is drawn to the striking paradox at the heart of this sacred narrative: Jesus, whose teachings embody love, mercy, forgiveness, and compassion, is subjected to violence and condemnation under Roman authority. The Via Crucis has long been understood within Christian devotion as a meditation on Christ’s Passion and His journey toward Calvary, where His suffering becomes inseparable from the Christian understanding of sacrificial love and redemption.
